about Marie
I am currently living my best life with a strong sense of purpose. Using my vast experience, research and qualifications to Coach, Mentor and Educate others so that they can reach their full potential and find that inner happiness and inspire others. Unfortunately this has not always been the case.

When my children were young and we were living in France I separated from their father. Part of my grief was focused around concerns that our mistakes would disadvantage them in life. You hear the stories about ‘those single-parent families’ and I promised myself that I would utilise my determination and skill set so this did not happen, and it most certainly has not. I am the proud maker and developer of two wonderful, happy, accomplished, successful grown-up children who are both making a real difference in the world in their own way.

Many years ago I experienced stress-related anxiety. I got little help and used my frustration, fear and anger, positively, to research what was happening to me and come up with a tool kit to manage this, and live a normal life. So now I am passionate about helping others manage, or not even experience this nightmare, and helping them live happily, worry-free, complete, and fulfilled lives with a strong sense of purpose. I now use my experience, life coach qualifications, and research to help others find peace and happiness. Coaching and mentoring others brings me so much joy and is so rewarding.

This terrible time in my life turned into one of the best and out of these dark times, Mind Over Matter was born.

Recently, earning my Senior Leader's MBA, and CMI Chartered Manager Status, through the University of Exeter, has cemented my belief in fostering happy, healthy, and subsequently productive, people first organisational cultures, where the well-being and growth of their greatest asset, their employees is the primary concern. This also compliments my mindset work.

Having worked in Further Education for over 28 years - as a college lecturer and in more recent years as a Senior Leader - I know firsthand how building your career can affect your mental health. Stress-related anxiety, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, work/life balance, limiting beliefs, and organisational lack of vision, alignment to my values and sense of purpose, truly restrict the fortunes of a vast range of people. You're not alone. Having encountered burnout myself, I viewed redundancy as a fantastic opportunity to concentrate of making a difference,. mentoring and educating others through MOM - Being an experienced and qualified Personal Trainer for your Mind.
I also have the privelege of being Chief Officer of North Devon Voluntary Services Ltd., a local infrastructure council for the third sector, where we enable those that do good to flourish, and personally allows me to practice what I preach.

When I am not working you can find me down by the Sea, travelling, spending time with my family, friends, or meditating and reflecting with my very extensive set of crystals. #Blisscipline.
